The White’s Tree Frog (Litoria caerulea) is also known as “The Dumpy Tree Frog” and originates from North East Australia.

As their nickname suggests, they are a stout frog, have smooth skin and range from brown to pale green or blues in colour. This species is a medium sized frog and can reach up to 4 inches when fully grown.

With the right care this species they can live for up to 15 years. They are hardy and calm in nature, and make an excellent pet for a beginner amphibian keeper.

You will need to provide a tank with height, as they spend most of their time up in the plants and branches. It is also important that you provide plenty of foliage and hollow branches for hides. Moss should be used as a substrate as this will help keep the required humidity. There should be a water dish big enough for the frog to bath in, with easy access in and out.

Their most common food is crickets or locusts but they will eat “almost anything”. This species is well known for over eating and becoming overweight. So it is essential you do not over feed them.
